An independent agency, otherwise known as uncaptive, is licensed and appointed to work with multiple insurance providers. Captive agencies represent and only write insurance for that company. Examples of captive agencies are State Farm, Allstate & Farmers agencies.

We’re an independent agency.  We believe it works best for our clients because it allows us to switch our clients to a different insurance company, while keeping the relationship.

Because we have exceptional agents who have the freedom to write with multiple companies and are well positioned to serve our clients by shopping their insurance needs with our many insurance providers.  That means that one quote to us allows you to get a quote from many insurance providers at once.  When you go to the store they sell many different brands.  Why should your insurance be any different?

We will work with you to find the right coverage for your unique business.  Some of the insurance lines we write are: workers’ comp, general liability, business auto, restaurants, retail, auto repair shops, real estate rentals, hard to place business and others. We can write just about any type of business insurance or can refer you to someone that does if we can’t.

No.  Because insurance laws vary from state to state, you have to be licensed for each state you write insurance in.  We live and are located in Minnesota and are proudly licensed to write insurance for Minnesota. 

Yes. The companies that we write for offer multi-policy discounts.  There are times when it makes more sense to split up your policies to different companies.  Basically, it comes down to what you pay in the end, so if you end up paying less or getting better coverage by splitting up your policies to 2 or 3 different companies it should be looked in to.  We would still be your agent with these different companies if we are appointed with them.

Yes, we work with some of the biggest, well known insurance providers. Some of these companies only work with independent agents.  Companies such as Travelers, Nationwide, Safeco, AAA & Progressive.  Although, we have large nationwide companies we work with we, also, work with regional carriers.  The goal is to find the best fit for you and your budget. 

The companies we represent offer lots of discounts.  They vary by company but some common discounts are: driver training discount, good student discount, hybrid/electric vehicle discount, student away discount, age of roof discount, new home purchase discount, & others. 

Yes.  Our office is in New Hope, Minnesota, but we live and, also, work in the New Brighton area. Generally, we support the Twin Cities metro area, but do work in the greater rural Minnesota areas.

Yes. We meet by appointment and can meet in our office and can oftentimes come to you for the appointment. 

Yes. The quote is absolutely free.  We are compensated through the insurance providers when you buy and renew one of their policies.  

If we are appointed with that company we can do an agent change for you as long as your agent isn’t, also, with Atlas Insurance Brokers.  We have a policy with Atlas that we won’t compete with other agents that are in their network.  If you are unsure, feel free to contact us and ask.
